The Maritime Library lends out, free of charge, technical literature, handbooks and fiction to all Danish ships and ships with Danish crews, but the library also owns a large maritime collection. This collection is open to the general public, other libraries and students.

Ships can requisition books directly from the library on Blegdamsvej in Copenhagen, but the services of the library are also available through one of the book depots at the Danish Government Seamen's Service stations or from seamen's churches and seamen's homes.

Visitors are welcome at the library.
